Welcome to the 2019-20 School Year!

It is my pleasure to welcome you and your family to Lawndale Elementary School District! If you are new to our community, welcome! If you are a returning family, I’d like to thank you for continuing your student’s educational journey at LESD. We are proud to be a part of your student’s success story!

At Lawndale Elementary School District, our students’ intellectual, social and emotional growth and development is our top priority.  We are dedicated to ensuring our students achieve their highest academic and personal potential. Our focus on academic discourse, collaboration and professional learning resulted in us being honored with the “Top Schools” award for closing achievement gaps. Students are at the heart of every decision we make!

Recently, our country has seen a great deal of division, discord and violence.  Last year, all of our schools were audited for safety and security, and we have a new Coordinator of Safety and Risk Management to support our schools.  Safety is not just physical - ALL students and families must feel welcome and supported to create safe schools. A positive learning environment is founded on physical and emotional safety.

    In Lawndale we:

    • Honor and celebrate the diversity of our students, families and staff

    • Encourage conversations that value all perspectives and experiences

    • Support and embrace all families, including our immigrant families

We look forward to providing our students with a 21st century educational experience that engages them in the joy of learning.

We also look forward to seeing you on Wednesday, August 28, the first day of school.

Mark your calendars and get ready for an amazing year!
