Citizen’s Bond Oversight Committee
The Lawndale Elementary School's Citizen Oversight Committee plays a crucial role in ensuring transparency and accountability in the use of public funds for school improvement projects. The committee consists of the following members:
- Business Representative
- Senior Citizen Group Representative
- Parent / Guardian of a Child Enrolled in the District
- Parent / Guardian of a Child Enrolled in the District & Active in the PTA
- At-Large Community Member - Resident of LESD
- Taxpayer Organization Member
The committee diligently reviews budgets, monitors construction progress, and provides recommendations to ensure that all projects meet the highest standards of quality and safety. In accordance with Education Code Section 15278(b), committee shall:
- Inform the public concerning the District's expenditure of proceeds;
- Review expenditure reports produced by the District to ensure that proceeds were expended only for the purposes set forth in the Measures; and
- Present to the Board of Trustees in public session, an annual written report outlining their activities and conclusions regarding the expenditure of proceeds.
