RETURNING STUDENTS
All currently enrolled students will receive a Snapcode through email with a link to reenroll and update their student profile. Snapcodes to reenroll students for the 2025 - 2026 school year will be emailed beginning May/June 2025. Please review the returning student page for a guide on how to use the Snapcode to reenroll and additional action items to prepare for the new school year.

Permits & School Transfers

SPANISH DUAL IMMERSION 
Join our coveted Spanish Dual Immersion Program (DI) that has shown to help students become biliterate, improve their cross-cultural understanding, and expand their cognitive skills! The program is offered in kindergarten through eighth grade!
 
In addition to our kindergarten through eighth grade program, to help determine if DI is a good fit for your child, LESD offers a DI TK class at Mark Twain Elementary. After the completion of the class, students are invited to apply to enter the DI program in kindergarten.
 
The application period for program is February 1 to February 28! We will accept applications from Lawndale students and those in the process of applying for a permit.

  1. Please submit the TK/Kinder 2025 Dual Immersion Application
  2. In addition to the program application, if you are NEW to our district, please ensure to submit the 2025-2026 New Student Registration Form and Permit Application (if you reside outside our district).
EARLY CHILDHOOD EDUCATION
At Lawndale, we offer various FREE early childhood education programs to best fit your child's needs! We offer State Preschool, the Lawndale Early Advantage Program (LEAP) Peer Partner Program, Transitional Kindergarten, and Kindergarten!
 

State Preschool

The Lawndale Preschool offers part-time and full-time classes for ages 3-5. Classes are located at the following Lawndale campuses: Anderson, Carson, Green, Mitchell, and Twain. The program is open to all qualifying students within the South Bay! Preschool accepts students year-round!

Lawndale Early Advantage Preschool (LEAP) Peer Partner Program

The Lawndale Early Advantage Program (LEAP) is designed for students with special education needs from ages 3-4. The program offers a unique opportunity for typically developing students known as Peer Partners who serve as models for our special education students. Peer Partners are selected through an internal LESD application process. General LEAP students are placed by the Southwest SELPA

Transitional Kindergarten (TK)

Transitional Kindergarten supports the transition between preschool and kindergarten, providing children with a strong foundation for their educational journey. Click here for more information about the TK program.

We are accepting students whose birth date is between 9/2/2020 - 9/1/2021 into the 2025-2026 school year!

Kindergarten 

Our Kindergarten program provides our young learners with engaging, standards-based instruction, a focus on social-emotional growth, and a supportive environment that sets the stage for lifelong academic and personal success! Students benefit from a rich STEM, arts and library programming, and expanded enrichment before and after school!

Realizing Amazing Potential (R.A.P.) is the district's award-winning before and after-school program that expands and enhances classroom instruction offering coding and robotics, team building, arts, gardening, music, sports, and more!  Apply today!

EDUCATIONAL BENEFITS FORM

The EBF form collects income information from our families that will help our school receive educational funding and resources for our students. PARENTSQUARE

We use ParentSquare to communicate with families important school information, class updates, events, and more!  Current parents/ legal guardians can register through the ParentSquare pageIf you are entering our district in 2025-2026, please register for a ParentSquare account in late August!

SCHOOL DEVICE INSURANCE

We recommend families to purchase school device insurance to cover instances of accidental damage, loss, and theft! D
