Parent Advisory Committees
The African American Parent Advisory Council (AAPAC) serves as a vital platform for our African American/Black families to share their ideas and perspectives with the district, working together to address the needs of our students. The council’s mission is to empower African American/Black families by equipping them with the knowledge and skills necessary to advocate for a high-quality education.
The District Community of Multilingual Families (DELAC) was created to build a community of parents and school staff dedicated to the support of multilingual students and their families. Our purpose is to create a space where we can all share our experiences, ask questions, and, most importantly, collaborate to improve the learning outcomes of our students.
The District Parent Advisory Committee (DPAC) plays a key role in providing valuable feedback on the Title I budget, which supports programs and services for low-income and underperforming student groups. It works with school-site committees to enhance communication between the district and families, advocate for educational improvements, and foster stronger community engagement and understanding of district initiatives.
A parent-teacher association (PTA) is a formal organization composed of parents, teachers and staff that is intended to facilitate parental participation in a school. The funds raised from PTA memberships and other fundraising initiatives help pay for field trip admissions, transportation and support academic programs.
