Early Education Programs

The Lawndale Elementary School District maintains a strong commitment to ensuring high quality instructional programs for all students. This chart below has been developed to assist families in understanding the variety of programs available for our earliest learners.  There are many options offered for students and some students qualify for more than one program. The information below that should prove helpful in determining which programs students can attend.

State Preschool - For students ages 3-5
About Preschool
  • Children learn skills to support growth and development.
  • Cognitive development, social and emotional development, science, math, and  early literacy are introduced and taught.
  • Students can attend for one or two years, depending upon their age.
Dates of Birth for Enrollment
  • 3rd birthday on or before Sept. 1
  • 4th birthday on or before Sept. 1
  • 5th birthday on or between Sept. 2 and Dec. 2
Hours

AM Session: 8:00 - 11:00

PM Session: 12:00 - 3:00

Transitional (TK) - For students age 4
About Transitional Kindergarten During this 2 year program, students are introduced to English Language Arts, Math, Science, Social Studies and Physical Education standards.

Hours Full Day 8:30-2:30

Kindergarten - For students ages 4-5
